What is a golf society?

A golf society is essentially a golf club without a course. A golf society can monitor a player's handicap, keep it updated and issue a handicap certificate. The main difference between a golf society and a golf club is that a golf club with a course charges the member an annual fee and the player has a certain number of rounds on that particular course included in that fee. A golf society on the other hand charges a fee according to the services it renders, but the player has no green fee included in the price. The big advantage though is that the player is not limited to play only one course. He will have to pay a green fee when visiting a course, but not the annual fee for playing. For the occasional player or players that enjoy visiting many different courses the golf society represents a more advantageous solution as you will need to have a handicap to be allowed on any course.

What are the benefits for joining the society?

Many of us lead very busy lives which gives us little time to play golf. Our games are limited to a few rounds a year. Due to this it is often a waste of money to join a golf club full time. But this creates a problem as you have no handicap certificate if you have time to have a game, be it on holiday or the occasional round with your friends. As a member of our World Wide Golf Society though you will be in possession of a golf handicap certificate which is valid at the vast majority of clubs around the world. We will issue you with a credit card size membership card with your handicap clearly visible. All you need to do is to pay the green fee and off you go. Plus with our World Wide Golf Society you will have access to our golf score calculator and golf diary. You will be able to calculate your exact points scored on any course around the world, keep a record of your scores and courses played. You will have the possibility to enter personal comments about your day out ( only accessible to you ).

We do give you the opportunity though to play on a course so you can provide us with these 3 cards.

What can I do if I forget my handicap certificate when playing somewhere?

This is something that has happened to all of us one day. You go on a golf vacation, you take the plane, you arrive but sadly not your luggage. You had your handicap certificate in your golf bag and your first tee-off is shortly. You can rent clubs, but the club wants to see your handicap certificate. Not a problem. If you have forgotten or lost your handicap certificate all the club needs to do is to access (with your permission of course as you will need to enter your password) your handicap details on the website.
